The CEO will guide and implement a strategic planning process during the delicate transition from the long-term partnership model to the new entity. They will serve as the chief external face of the Village as it continues to expand its identity in the heart of greater Washington, while to serving families and children as if each were the only patient.

The CEO is charged with communicating Children’s Village’s mission to the community and leveraging the historical community support and engagement. He/she is directly accountable to a board of directors, made up of the partner organization trustees as well as carefully-selected community leaders. In addition, the CEO will provide visionary leadership and oversight to the talented operations and clinical staff. Position responsibilities include:

Education, Experience, Certifications


  • Bachelor’s degree and a combination of professional and life experience that enables the CEO to be a leader in the Yakima Valley philanthropic community.
  • Minimum of 8 years senior leadership experience in a mission-driven organization, preferably healthcare related.
  • Demonstrated successful board leadership development and management.
  • Clearly articulated passion, experience, and/or understanding of the issues facing families with children who have disabilities.
  • Natural entrepreneurial instincts; the desire and capacity to build something from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate others toward a shared vision.
  • Proven managerial aptitude to continue growth and development of a dedicated and capable staff.
  • Proven record of sound financial management with the ability to review and understand financial reports, operating plans, lease agreements, etc.
  • A successful track record in the development arena with the ability to cultivate and nurture donor relationships across a wide spectrum.
  • Prior experience working for and interacting with a volunteer board, as well as a variety of other volunteers.
  • Occasional regional and national travel.


  • Advanced degree – nonprofit leadership, healthcare administration, public policy, business, or other related discipline.
  • Knowledge/experience working with the multiple payor relationships inherent in the changing healthcare landscape.
