Executive Director, Norwalk, OH
The Huron County Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHAS) is seeking applications for the position of the Executive Director. The Director will be in charge of carrying out the mandates of the Board. The Board is authorized by the State to plan, fund, and monitor behavioral healthcare, including mental health and drug and alcohol services, in Huron County. The Board office is in Norwalk, Ohio.
The Executive Director reports to a 14-member Board and serves as the top administrator of the organization with responsibility to oversee the Board’s system of care. Responsibilities include: (1) participation in Board meetings and committee meetings, (2) ensuring the Board and agencies are in compliance with regulatory and compliance issues, (3) consulting and working with all service providers and contracted agencies associated with the Board, (4) managing the Board budget, maintaining responsibility for fiscal reporting and preparation of the annual budget for Board approval, (5) actively promoting public relations, levy efforts and community education and awareness about the Board, and (6) supervision of Board staff.
The position requires a qualified mental health or addiction services professional with experience in administration or a professional administrator with experience in mental health or addiction services. Successful candidate will have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of seven (7) years experience in management or administration of mental health and/or alcohol/drug programs. Computer literacy skills are essential.
